Sunlight Ski Team Age Class Program

This program is for skiers, ages 8 to 14, who wish an increased focus on racing and development of the competitive edge. From late November through March, team members train both weekend days, Tuesday and Thursday after school, during Christmas vacation, and some additional school holidays. An age class racer competes in three to five USSA races. Championship races for each age group are held in March. The championship races may require midweek participation and possible school absence. Speed training is introduced to J3 and J4 racers when deemed appropriate by the coach. Selected J3 racers who demonstrate the proper skills and focus may have the opportunity to compete in a USSA Downhill race, which consists of two full training days and one racing day.
